Conveyors are an indispensable piece of equipment in the plastic injection molding industry. Different injection machines have different discharge methods, requiring different conveyors. Because the customer had limited space to place the conveyor, the arm's material unloading position was still some distance from the gooseneck conveyor. Therefore, we planned a cylinder-driven lateral conveyor for the customer. A flat conveyor was mounted on the lateral mechanism to receive the parts gripped by the arm. A cylinder-driven lateral mechanism was installed below the flat conveyor. When the arm finished unloading the part, it would activate the cylinder, causing the flat conveyor to move outwards to connect with the gooseneck conveyor and then deliver the part. After the part was delivered, the cylinder would push the conveyor back to its original position, ready to receive the next part. Different injection machines have varying material discharge methods that require corresponding conveyor setups. However, there can be limited space available for placing conveyors, which can create a distance between the arm's material placement position and the goose-neck style conveyor. To address this issue, a solution has been devised using a horizontally shifting conveyor driven by a pneumatic cylinder. A flat conveyor is mounted on the shifting mechanism to receive the materials extracted by the arm. Beneath the flat conveyor, a pneumatic cylinder shifting mechanism is installed. When the arm completes material placement, the cylinder is activated, causing the flat conveyor to move outward and connect with the goose-neck style conveyor before delivering the materials. After the materials are conveyed, the pneumatic cylinder will return the flat conveyor to its original position, ready to receive the next batch of materials. This solution has proven to be effective in solving the challenge of limited space and ensuring a smooth material transfer process.
